about

Hey, friends!

This is my entry for Recording Revolution's One Month One Song Challenge. Everything you hear was written, performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered by yours truly over three weeks or so; all except for my sweet-ass robot back-up singers, for which we have my buddy Andy Glover to thank for lending his pipes. He also helped me with the arrangement and final mix of the song quite a bit and provided a lot of encouragement and puns.

Thanks for listening, I really hope you enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed recording it and reigniting my passion for home recording. There is plenty more to come this year.

lyrics

Lyrics:

You were young and confused
A l’il battered, a l’il bruised
You needed someone to play along with your game

Took one look in my eyes
And said, “Are you one of my kind?”
But I knew we weren’t one in the same

Now try as I might
from behind a blue light
I can’t help but find your world in my hands

But at the end of the world
where it twists and it curls
I won’t be there so please understand

I’m sorry I couldn’t let you slip away
before I became just another mistake
I’m sorry you couldn’t see it my way, too
But someday you’ll find someone like you

(I'm sorry I couldn't let you slip away)
(Let you slip away)

At the end of the day
when I commiserate over my mistakes
I know I took too long, I shouldn’t have stayed

I’m sorry I couldn’t let you slip away
before I became just another mistake
I’m sorry you couldn’t see it my way, too
But someday you’ll find someone like you

I’m sorry I couldn’t let you slip away
Let you slip away

about

Brandon Lorrekovich Seattle, Washington

If you had to sum Brandon Lorrekovich up in one word, it would have to be: All. All of the words would be needed to describe him, because his character is frightfully complex; his mind, a labyrinth of great wisdom and ‘90s film and television references. Brandon is highly regarded for his contributions to publications such as JET and Modern Falcon. He also attends regular glass-staining seminars. ... more
